| 4 July: Alexander was runner-up at the 2009 Leeds conducting competition. It was a great experience to work with the Orchestra of Opera North. The finale was Sibelius' 3rd Symphony. |

In September 2008 Rossica Choir were on tour in
England and during October in Germany. Along with music by Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky and Schnittke, they performed vocal cycles by Alexander Prior. |

In September, October and November 2008, Alexander
took part in a big international project - a 3 part series for Channel 4
"The Greatest Prodigies of the World." He was filming in China, USA and Russia.He
was commissioned by Channel 4 to compose a concerto
for several soloists who will be performing it live in April 2009 in The Sage Gateshead with Northern Sinfonia under Alexander's baton.
