the International Opera Festival, Cheboksary

July 2009

4 July: Alexander was runner-up at the 2009 Leeds conducting competition. It was a great experience to work with the Orchestra of Opera North. The finale was Sibelius' 3rd Symphony.

28 November: Alexander conducted Rimsky-Korsakov's "Tzar's Bride" at Rubenstein Opera and Ballet Theatre in St Petersburg.

September/October 2008

In September 2008 Rossica Choir were on tour in England and during October in Germany.
Along with music by Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky and Schnittke, they performed vocal cycles by Alexander Prior.

Autumn 2008

In September, October and November 2008, Alexander took part in a big international project - a 3 part series for Channel 4
"The Greatest Prodigies of the World." He was filming in China, USA and Russia.He was commissioned by Channel 4 to compose a concerto
for several soloists who will be performing it live in April 2009 in The Sage Gateshead with Northern Sinfonia under Alexander's baton.
Alexander was travelling around the world to select the most talented musicians who will be performing his new concerto.

12 April: Alexander received a diploma
for his second place at the International
Prokofiev Competition.
2 April: Alexander conducted Rachmaninov's Concerto No 2 in Glazunov Concert Hall,
soloist Stanisalv Soloviev.

6 April: Alexander conducted the NSO at the Barbican, London in a programme of Stravinsky, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky and his own music.

5 February: Alexander was invited to the
Moscow Art Theatre which was founded by
his great great grandfather, where he met

30 October: a final scene from Alexander's ballet "Mowgli" was performed at the Jubilee of  the Moscow State Classical Ballet. 
The choreography was by the outstanding Russian choreographers Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vassilev

September 2006

7 September: After the concert with organisers and participants of the
V International Piano Festival. In the centre is Nicolai Mazharo, who performed Alexander's concerto for piano, next to him is Ekaterina Murina who performed Tchaikovskiy's Piano Concerto, and Andrei Ivanovitch who performed Prokofiev's Piano Concerto.
7 September: Alexander on stage after the successful performance of his concerto. 7 September: Signing programmes for fans after the concert. 7 September: Alexander with the score of his piano concerto next to the advertising board for his concert on 7th September in St Petersburg's Capella
6 September: Alexander rehearsing his concerto for piano with Capella Symphony orchestra  6 September: Alexander appeared on Russian TV "Good morning Petersburg", performing parts from his piano concerto in various keys 5 September: At the press conference which took place in the fortress of St Peter and St Paul, in St Petersburg, Alexander gave interviews to 4 TV channels, 6 radio stations and numerous newspapers. 4 September: Alexander showing his compositions to his tutor professor Alexanderander Tchaikovskiy.
Alexander was offered a place at St Petersburg Conservatory, where he is now a student of composition and conducting.

August 2006

8-9 July: Alexander went to Russia to work with the choreographers on the ballet Mowgli.
